Recommended routes: Split Point Lighthouse | Great Ocean Road Memorial Archway | Find wild koalas in Lorne Town | Apollo Bay | Twelve Apostles
The Great Ocean Road is located in the west of Melbourne. It was built to commemorate the soldiers of the First World War. Many veterans have also participated in the construction. A total of more than 3,000 workers worked hard for it. The construction of this road began in 1919 and was completed in 1932.
The Great Ocean Road starts from Torquay and ends at Aaronsford. It is a nearly 300-kilometer coastal road. The coastal scenery along the road is one of the best attractions in the world. There are peaceful bays, surfing beaches, tropical rainforests and caves. There is also a world-renowned scenery - the unique natural rock stacks "Twelve Apostles" standing in the ocean. At the same time, there is a chance to see a variety of wild animals along the way.

- Split Point Lighthouse (stay for 30 minutes)
This lighthouse is the second oldest lighthouse alongside the Great Ocean Road. Due to its red top, it is nicknamed Little Red Riding Hood Lighthouse by more and more people. When you come here, you must taste the soy milk latte in the cafe in front of the lighthouse.
- Lorne Town (stay for 15 minutes)
The first larger town alongside the Great Ocean Road. It has many Mediterranean-style buildings. Due to the time restrictions on the schedule, we will only take a short break in this town and take some photos.

- Look for wild koalas (stay for 30 minutes)
This may be a scenic spot that many one-day tour groups will not visit. We specially selected it for everyone. Because there are a lot of eucalyptus trees along the Great Ocean Road, there are a lot of koalas living here. Stop and grab a cup of coffee, it is very likely to find wild koalas.
- Apollo Bay (stay for 90 minutes)
Arrive at around 13:00. Take a lunch for one hour. Lunch at your own expense. Apollo Bay is the largest town alongside the Great Ocean Road, with a wide variety of restaurants, including Chinese and Western food. The popular scallop pie and the ice cream that has won multiple awards are worth a try. You can spend the rest of the time strolling around the town and going down to the beach to enjoy the sea view at closer distance.
- Great Otway National Park (passing by)
The second half of the Great Ocean Road trip is all about traveling here, from the sea view to the forest. When the weather is good, the sun pours down from the gaps between the branches, which is very spectacular. The air is also filled with the smell of eucalyptus, which is very soothing. Because the road is relatively tortuous, guests who are prone to dizziness should remember to prepare motion sickness medicine and don't eat too much at noon.
- Lord Ard Gorge (stay for 30 minutes)
In the 19th century, this was a major waterway for the UK to transport criminals or immigrants. However, the coastline was not as scenic as it is today. The sea was often foggy, with strong winds and high waves. There was a lack of lighthouses, making navigation extremely difficult. More than 600 shipwrecks of varying sizes occurred. The most famous shipwreck was the Loch Ard, where only a 15-year-old boy and a 17-year-old girl survived. To commemorate the victims, 52 tombs was built and this place is named "Lorch Ard Gorge".
- Sunset at the Twelve Apostles (stay for 60 minutes)
This is a scenic spot that is being eroded by nature. Currently, there are only 7 apostles left, and they will no longer exist in the near future. This may be the most legendary coast in Australia. The monsoon blowing from the Antarctic Circle rolls up huge waves, hitting the limestone reef, shaping the extraordinary coastal sculptures. Standing on the rocky cliffs, listening to the sounds of nature, and appreciating the dreamy scenery shrouded by the diffuse mist.
21:00 [End of wonderful trip]
